The Pre-Apprenticeship Process

    Register for an information session

    These sessions ensure you understand pre-apprenticeship to apprenticeship employment opportunities. You're walked through key information, complete your program applications, and have the chance to ask questions. Information and registration sessions are offered a few times a year.

    Complete required coursework

    Employers expect apprentices to come to the table with a basic set of skills and understanding of the field you're trying to enter. By completing a few required classes (course list may vary depending on your chosen apprenticeship path), you'll gain the knowledge to successfully interview with employers and begin your apprenticeship with the tools you need to keep learning.

    Complete certification preparation

    Many apprenticeships culminate with the chance to earn national certifications that may be required as a full-time employee. At 91¶¶Òõ, you'll take practice exams in Canvas after completing your pre-requisite courses. Students must pass these certification prep tests with a minimum score.

    Finish up and prepare for interviews

    When you're ready to wrap up your pre-apprenticeship requirements, you must upload unofficial trascripts showing you've completed your pre-requisite courses successfully, and that you've passed your certification practice tests in Canvas. Then, you'll complete short job readiness modules that help you prepare for your upcoming interviews, create a resume, and more.
